why does the priest say "...which will be shed for you and for all..." ? i thought (and maybe my translation could be wrong) the Bible and old latin missle said "..many.." ? why the change? thanks!

The latin words are "pro multis" which literally means "for the many" this was then rendered to mean "for all" which has caused much ink to be spilt over the time the translation came out. It has still not be resolved according to some. The new unofficial translation which went out to the bishops this year for comment and was done according to the "new rules" and under the watchfulness of the Vox Clare Committee continued the practice of saying "for all" instead of "for the many".
No doubt it will still be discussed!!!!!!
