Guest Guest
I am aware that a divorced and remarried person who did not receive a Decree of Nulity can not receive the Eucharist . I was wondering if a Catholic who was never married before marries someone who was married and divorced without receiving a decree of Nullity can he or she still receive the Eucharist. Thanks and God Bless
cappie
If I was a Catholic and unmarried and chose to marry a person who was divorced but did not have an annulment then I could not be married in the Catholic Church I would have to get married civily or in another church. As a Catholic I am required to marry in the Catholic Church before a priest or deacon and 2 witnesses. If I choose to go ahead and marry that person outside the church then the marriage is invalid. If such a thing exists the the person who married and is now divorced is still required to see the matrimonial tribunal of the diocese
