Theoketos
"Si Tibi Placet" = Please (Literally if it pleases you) would work best.
It would change if it is plural.

Seatbelt Blue
What's "Only in perfect service is there perfect glory?" I've been saying "Sola in servitute perfecta, gloria perfecta est" for over a year, but I'd like a second opinion.
Thy Geekdom Come
What's "Only in perfect service is there perfect glory?" I've been saying "Sola in servitute perfecta, gloria perfecta est" for over a year, but I'd like a second opinion.
Solum in servitudine perfecta, gloria perfecta est. In this case, "only" would be an adverb, so "sola" won't work. "Solum" is an irregular form for an adverb, but it is one. It could also be replaced with "modo" or "tantum." Thy Geekdom Come
Immaculata Corda Jesus et Mariae, amabo te derigatis me. there is too a please, it's an idiomatic expression! I'm learning LAAATIIIN :smart:
LOL Well, there is no direct "please". There is "si vis" which is "as you wish," but that's not really a "please". Besides, I used the subjunctive, which is far more appropriate for a prayer.
Aloysius
but this "WHEELOCK'S LATIN" Book I have says Amabo Te is an idiomatic expression meaning please

Yeah, I suppose it is. It promises love in exchange for something, so in a sense, it works, but still, the subjunctive is better suited to prayer requests (i.e. it's much more formal). Pio Nono
JMJ 8/13 - Sts. Pontian & Hippolytus My Latin prof was teaching us about the concept of "register" (speaking with others in a way appropriate to their social standing), and he said he once saw a textbook with a practice exercise for register - the students had to write in a number of different registers the order not to cut off the writer's finger.
