If I were the cardinal,

My reply would go something like this:

This is why it is good that I am not a cardinal, and instead, merely a cracker of wise on discussion boards. It's just that sort of letter only bothers me.

Cheers,

Dave :)
Will you be my partner in the PhatMass Crusade?????

:punch: :squash: :hammer:  :seesaw: :haha: :thatsfunny:

I thin kthat if a REAL Catholic were to run for the Presidency in this election 2004, they would not win. However, there are a few solid Catholic Senators. We can't give up though. That is exactly why I'm majoring in political science. I want to be an ORTHODOX Catholic Politician. I think the reason that there aren't very many Catholics in the Senate or REAL Catholics in the Presidency is because a lot of them that run for office are only knowledgable in one or two issues. I don't think they haven't gotten elected because they were Catholic. I haven't heard a single person say "I'm not voting for so-and-so because he's Catholic." There are some people that are misinformed about Catholicism, but I don't think that has anything to do with their voting decision. There haven't been two candidates that have both been morally conservative, one Catholic and one Protestant, where people had to decide simply by denomination. Usually the Democratic candidate is morally liberal (pro-abortion, pro-homosexual marriage), and the Republican holds more traditional moral ideals.
Do you people honestly believe that a person in america can honesty follow the Church to every rule and law, and still be a senator or whatever you call them?
Can a catholic follow every rule of the Church, and do you still expect him to get elected, or if he or she has already been elected, and decides to follow the rules, will be elected again?
There was a breif in the paper the other day about teh Obama Keyes races. Keyes attacked Obama's tance on abortion and other moral issues (I disagree with how Keyes worded his attack. Why can't Keyes say this is what I am for and why you should vote for me and less Don't vote for the other guy. It isn't just Keyes there are a lot of polticans who do it). But The Obama reply was that he has had every few people ask about abortion. Many (of all spectrums) ask about jobs and health care and very few are asking about abortion and gay marraige.

Bobby's running for my district. I'd say give'em some more experience first. He shot the state's health care system straight to hell.

Mine too. That's why I mentioned him. I love Bobby Jindal. I have never gotten so upset about an election as I did when he lost for governor. Kathleen Blanco used warped advertising. I got calls and mail from her campaign headquarters saying that Bobby Jindal is "anti-woman" b/c of health care issues. I have never been so mad about an election before.

Then do ask her.

God will take care of you :), even if your diocese doesn't. :(
