1337 k4th0l1x0r
I remember the days when the worst influence people got from video games was to post some picture with "All your base are belong to us" on the Internet.
Liberals I wouldn't say it's the games fault... the fault is the parents of the kid playing it. To many kids are not raised right. No moral guidence. No ten commandments. Society teaches there is no God, so there are no consequences if I don't get caught. All right and wrong depends on how I feel, so I can kill. A mind is a terrible thing to waste, but the liberal mind is a terrible thing. God Bless, ironmonk
Someguynamedmatt
I normally side with video game creators in debates like this. I think that video games are harmless in the hands of kids with decent parents. That being said, I think Rockstar should pull this game. In the GTA series, they pushed the envelope with violence by letting players kill random people walking the street, but the goal of the game was not to kill people. Ironically, I remember old games whose sole purpose was killing people... i.e. Mortal Kombat, and a true classic from NES called Contra. In Contra, you are dropped from a helicopter and you run from level to level shooting everything that gets in your way. The difference between these games and Manhunt? Well, firstly, the graphics back then were not so realistic, and even the new Mortal Kombat games aren't going for realism, so it's cartoon violence that kids can usually differentiate from real life. More importantly though, the reason you were killing people in those games was because they were trying to kill you. Maybe it's not truly justifiable, but i think that kids can tell the moral difference between a video game where you run around killing aliens and one in which you gruesomely murder people as they scream for mercy. -Matt
reelguy227
good!!!!! all those gruesome games ,like doom 3 ,gta 3 ,gta san andreas ,gta vice city and manhunt should all be pulled from the shelves ,there all evil ,all you do is kill things ,i mean i could see the point of some games ,like halo ,u kill things and do missions ,but its for a good cause ,its not like gta were yu just kill people for no apparent reason at all!!!!!man!!!!!!
Paladin D
I agree that certain games shouldn't have been made in the first place, considering it's offensive to my faith. However, these games have ratings for a reason, and they're on every game that is sold in stores! The problem is, the store clercs not asking for ID if a minor is purchasing a Rated M game, and the parents not keeping track of what their kids are buying and playing. My mother always checked what I was doing and what I was wanting to buy. Some of it I couldn't get, some I could. Many parents don't do that these days. Guest alterboy
I think it's just a sad thing. Video games are just a diversion anyway, and yet they have morally questionable material in them. It's just sad that a diversion can lead to problems like in this case. Come to think about it, has the Pope ever addressed the subject of video games?
