Awesome! I know I'm not a Knight but I just remembered that yesterday when I was coming home from my trip I saw this HUGE billboard about the Knights of Columbus! I thought it was so cool

I know you asked for the kinghts of the board to post their opinions but my father is one and loves it a lot. He really really does. He is an officer on board and has been for about.... 6 years? All of the guys are really friendly and the organization has a lot to offer not only to you but to your community. I'll ask my dad sometime to get on under my name and tell you everything they've done that makes him proud. There's a lot though, haha. Every time he has a meeting he comes home and is just so happy and has so much to tell. Not about the meeting of course, those are private, but about all the cool new facts he's learned about recent doings by one of the councils around the world.

Anyway, if you had asked my dad, he would have talked your ear off.

It's a great organization. I love all the men from the Great 799!!!!

I'm considerin joining.. they do good on the parish level too---maybe can promote PM, as well as getting solid speakers to speak at the parish, etc.

my dad recently became a Knight.

Theologian in Training

I'm a Third Degree...if it wasn't for them, I would have had no financial security this past summer. They really help each other out. In fact, I was able to get an A/C guy for my mom through them.

They are a good group of men, and no matter where you are, if there are Knights and you have your card, you are warmly received.

As the Grand Knight for my council, I have to say DO IT NOW!

As a whole the order is faithful to the Church and to Christ. Of course, like any organization, you will get some bad apples. But To me running into them has been a challenge to initiate change instead of a reason to forsake the order. The degree ceremonials are wonderful to experience too and teach a good lesson.

Go for it, I've asked to sign up to some of the KofC at my parish. Of course since this community is pretty small, they have don't a squire program. I'll have to wait till I turn 18 (January) to join.

My RCIA sponsor was the Financial Secretary for the council at the parish I was received into the Church. He got me involved there and it's a pretty good group. You'll meet a lot of good Catholic men there, but don't be surprised if you're the youngest one there. I'm not the youngest one at my council, but I'm probably the second youngest. I say go for it.

<-- Still needing to do 2nd and 3rd degree ceremonies.

Thy Geekdom Come

I plan on joining, but I want to do it at a good parish (the parishes near me aren't all that orthodox :sadder:). I think I'll join when I get to college...there's got to be a good KofC in the Lincoln Diocese...
