anti-catholic writing makes me sad it just doesn't make any sense. On one page you read about how the Church is drastically flawed because it rips the spirit from its followers, making them submissive, unthinking, and apathetic, then on the next page you read about how the Church is drastically flawed because it instills in people a firebrand zealousy that leads them to fight bloody crusades....*sigh*....

Someone should make an exact point by point refutation of this book and call it "Latin Rite Catholicism." I'm not a huge fan of the Roman Catholic term.

Catholicism and Fundamentalism by Karl Keating is a direct refeutation of this book. Keating goes point by point refuting the falsities...

BINGO. I'm reading his book for the first time now too. Excellent work, though not as in depth as The Gospel According to McCarthy since the author only spends a chapter on the book
