Marilyn Manson is just a character, not a real person. His real name is Brian Worman, he was raised Catholic. Yes he does do crazy things but it's just a publicity stunt to shock people. His actual music is great, but yes, the lyrics are certainly not full of Christ's love.

Isnt he an evil person and a devil worshiper? If its just a publicity stunt ,its not a good publicity stunt. You just dont joke around about the devil ,its not right ,he needs our prayers badly.

Evil person.... quote an assertation. I wouldn't say THAT much. We don't know his heart nor his soul.

However, he has admitted to being a Satanist. He has talked with the devil (there is an actual ritual to go to, and I have very little doubt as to how well it works). His music will follow his actions.

God bless,

Mikey

Marilyn Manson should not be listened to by people of faith. His message is hate, the promotion of evil, and satanic. There are better alternatives. Also i think satanic music has a very strong force behind it. I was reading a while back ago in Zenit interview about a priest and how there is a rise of satanic rituals, hate etc. And he was saying quite often in the youth it started with just a simple curiosity with a band such as Cradle of Filth or singer like Marilyn Manson and it grew subconsciously and often they would go on the web read about them and begin to slowly adopt their paradighm and philosophys and it resulted in quite often a manifestaion of evil and sometiems very severe I belive two teens in Italy were found dead with a connection to satanic pricnipals that were rooted in this music.

We can't judge celebrities by the brief glimpes we see of their lives. You may hear that he talks to Satan, I've also heard that he brings his grandmother to church every Sunday. He was raised Catholic, that much is true. What he does may not be right, but it's wrong of us to judge someone we've never even seen in real life. It's particularly hard to judge someone by the character they play. It would be like me calling Nicole Kidman or Julia Roberts a prostitute just because she played one in a movie, it's not fair. A lot of this debate depends on your views of the message behind music. I believe that you have to let music affect you, it doesn't just invade your brain. You have to take part and let the message in. Worse than Marilyn Manson, who makes his message clear, are celebrities like Britney Spears or Whitney Houston. They represnt things that are against Catholicism, but in a way that seems innocent and fun. When the Columbine shootings happened, there were people that blamed Marilyn Manson for it. Marilyn Manson, an imaginary character who wears face paint and feather boas. I think, if some ****head with a guitar tells you to go shoot up your school or kill yourself, and you do it, you're a ****head too and you would've done it anyway. Your choice in music just sped up the process. All people are born with a certain darkness, you are the one that makes the choice to nuture it, not Marilyn Manson.

I can most certainly say you are wrong. If you listen to music, that music will affect you. It need not be concious. He's an admitted satanist... his music will only reflect his life.

God bless,

Mikey
