Thy Geekdom Come

Kerry contradicted himself so much...

It was like Michael Moore's movies...very well done, as far as being deceptive goes, and based almost entirely on lies, propaganda, and emotional group rallying against a common enemy. It was like the two-minutes hate.

I am skeptical that Kerry's strategy will work -- having Kerry look "tough" and "military"... basically trying to "out-Bush" George W. Bush. That whole convention was about "anyone but Bush" and "Bush smells of elderberries" but WHAT does Kerry have to sell to the American public? A senator with a flip floppy voting record?

His whole Vietnam glamour can easily be undercut by the fact that his voting record is terrible on defense. He also VOTED to go to war in Iraq but voted to not fund it. Where is the logic in that?

Here's a nice little story: Kerry pretended to be throwing his medals to be trashed when protesting the war in the 70s, but in truth he kept his medals and just threw someone else's. But he was more than happy to be shown doing it! His response in question to that was that he "didn't happen to have them with him that day."

Yeah, right.

Lol, this is sort of like that old tootsie roll pop comercial from the 80's where the old owl says "how many licks does it take to get to the center".... on phatmass it's "how many replies does it take to bash Kerry" .... same answer; it's 3.

I dunno, but that just sort of popped in my head all of the sudden :lol:

You forgot to mention the best part of that commercial. When the owl says, "a-two-whooooooo"...

The war footage that was shown at the convention was staged and then sliced together by Hollywood filmmakers

Did you guys hear about the balloons gaffe?

Don Mischer, convention producer, was accidentally broadcast on CNN screaming "Go balloons! Go balloons! Go balloons!" and screaming a string of profanities when the balloons were supposed to come tumbling down. Apparently they weren't working. All I know is that he completely lost it. I've read the transcript and audio file and I thought it was funny.

Could this be another omen like Jimmy Carter in 1980 when HIS balloons had a malfunction?

GO BALLOONS! GO BALLOONS! GO BALLOONS!!!

A tidbit of information: 5 of the 8 wealthiest zip codes in the United States vote Democrat. So what does that tell you?

I'm not saying Republicans necessarily are any more "for the common man" but the Democrats for a long time had that sort of "we're for the scrappy, middle class underdog" schtick that I don't find all that easy to believe these days.

$ Cha ching! $

I was going to say something about Teresa Heinz Kerry, but I edited it for charity's sake.
