track2004
Do you thikn modesty has to do with what kind of situation you are in. I mean basically everyone has said that tight clothes are bad but I doubt anyone wants to change swimsuits or running/biking clothes or racing suits for crazy bobsleders. I ram Cross Country and Track in high school and although the uniforms made me slightly self concious yet, they were required and did have a purpose. I would have hated to run in 90+ degrees 80% humidity for 2.5 miles in pants and a t-shirt; I would have passed out. So what do you all think about that? Philippe
it makes me mad when people make statements like this. whose business is it if someone is fat? don't look at them if you're so superficial and judgemental of someone else's body. EVERYONE should cover up, not just the people that some guys feel are not attractive enough to 'pull off' a certain immodest look.
sry Creepy.... it was more of an inside joke i agree everyone should cover up and im sorry for that comment, it was innapropriate and uncalled for forgive me

Ash Wednesday
i don't think that it's less immodest for a skinny girl to wear low riders than it is for a fat girl to wear low riders. both are immodest.
I'm gathering that this was posted in response to my statement about heavy girls not only being immodest but also being unflattering. I did NOT imply (at least intentionally) that it was okay for thin girls to dress in such a way, and that one was less modest than the other. I actually added that dressing in such a way would be fine ONLY if you're in private with your husband. My point was, dress to flatter YOURSELF, not draw focus on your body, regardless of shape and size.
mom25angels
Just wanted to add one thing to the no no list.......clothes with words on the bottom. This is just an invitation for someone to be looking at your backside. I see them on girls my dd age all the time and want to just ask their moms or dads what they are thinking. I saw an 11 yr old with "hottie" written on her bottom just yesterday!
mattosika
I believe modesty is not so much the clothes but rather the intent the person has when wearing certain clothes. If a woman wears say a thong, to get guys to look at her but for imoral purposes its indecent, as wearing a thong to reduce panty lines in a formal evening. Same with a guy wearing tight jeans to get a girl to look at his figure, to wearing jeans for other puposes(hes a cowboy){I don't know} i'm just blabbing now, i hope I got my point across, ok i'm going to be quite now. 1337 k4th0l1x0r
Yeah, the intent of the clothes have alot to do with whether or not its modest. For example, I went out on my bike riding tonight. When I cycle, I wear the lycra form fitting shorts and a jersey. Now, when I'm out on the bike, it's acceptable clothing, so I'm cool being out in public wearing it. However, about 2 minutes after I got home, a guy came and rang my door bell. There I was, answering the door to my house wearing my bike shorts. I wasn't being immodest in this situation, but if I wore my bike shorts out again to go get groceries, I surely would be immodest as the shorts are inappropriate for that situation (unless of course I stopped at the store briefly and was riding my bike at the time). Ash Wednesday
Sarongs for the ladies really come in handy when in bathing suit situations, too. Those are those knee-length scarf/skirt-like things that women wear to cover their thighs and derriere. I don't go to the pool/sauna without 'em.... though a towel works just fine, too. Ash Wednesday
You know another thing I've noticed recently?!?!? The astounding number of bridal gowns that are spaghetti strap sleeveless and strapless. The majority of them are NOT what I would consider suitable for a Catholic wedding. I finally found some online that specifically market being MODEST bridal gowns and these are so much nicer! (I don't like my big xena warrior princess arms, either)
