P3chrmd
there are not any SPECIFICALY Catholic Catholic...like about Mary or mass or eucharist...but just generally about the awsomeness of God! The important thing is that she is Catholic!!! Her version of Ave Maria on the WOW Christmas CD is SOOOOOO AWSOME! I was shocked that WOW put a Marian hymn on one of their CDs
DemonSlayer
Well, that version Ave Maria was written by a protestant. But I wonder if she would write a song about The Eucharist or saints, etc, knowing her main market is protestant.
dUSt
I wish Rachael Lampa was more Catholic. I'm seriously considering removing her from the phatmass music section because she doesn't really help promote the phatmass mission.
dUSt
OKay, that's it. I will be removing her from the phatmass music section. I read her BIO on her site--nothing about being Catholic. I looked at her links section... No Catholic links, but she does have a link to Lauryn Hill's website, who is very anti-Catholic and pro-abortion. I'm so discouraged and disappointed. I love Lauryn Hill's music. but i hvae heard all sorts of complains about her... that she is racist, hates people, kills babies, hates Catholics... but most of this stuff is stuff that she stood for BEFORE her amazing Christian conversion expierence. have yall heard the unplugged 2.0 cd? It is all about Jesus Christ! So, does anyone know the actual quotes (and dates) that she talked about being anti-cathoic and pro-abortion? flip
dUSt, i read the bio for rachel lampa. she is in fact Catholic, no? She also says nothing about her bieng Chrisian in her bio - however she is a Christian, no? She might not do Catholic songs about the Sacracments...but does that make her less Catholic? I think its a little to harsh for you to remove her from the music section - but hey, you are the boss. so whatever you want to do... but she is wearing a miraclous medal in her picture =)
dUSt
I'm sure she is Catholic, and obviously Christian, but phatmass is about glorifying the Church. I can name you hundreds of Christian artists and many Catholic artists that are musicians. Most secular artists are Christian, but unless they have specifically Christian lyrics, it can't really be considered Christian music. Same goes for being Catholic. Unless they specifically have Catholic lyrics, I don't consider it Catholic. Phatmass' niche is promoting specifically Catholic music. That's just what we do. Heck, even manCHILD has lyrics about Bible and Tradition, crucifix, etc. I mean, he thanks the Legionnaires of Christ in his album cover. Ms Lampa could at least mention that she's Catholic in her bio, or provide a link to one Catholic site. If she (or her "people") don't want to highlight the fact that she's Catholic for marketing reasons, then why should I crash the party by putting her on a Catholic site? I'm trying to grow hard-core Catholics here by weeding out all the watered down lukewarmness. Work with me.
