homeschoolmom
Okay, quick lowdown: HS_dad, hschildren, RussianGirl (acting as Godmother) and I arrive at church at 5:15. Meet up with the priest. He talks with us all in his office for about fifteen minutes. Meet back at the baptismal font. Joined by our RCIA sponsors. Start the ceremony. We stop to let HSson go to the bathroom (sigh)... continue with ceremony. Baptize HSbaby. Time for HSson... He doesn't wanna get in the water... he says he's chicken... he says he's a coward. I assure him he's not. I tell him this is his one and only opportunity to stand on the edge of the pooly thingy... Nope. Finally, he agrees if Father will pour it down over his head (hair washing style) and not on top of his head.... fine. So, he's done. Candles... chrism... blessings... (I can't remember if this is the correct order or not). HSdaughter comments how she thought it was really neat and wished she could get baptized. (She knows why she can't)... I assured her that her turn would come next year with First Communion. So, that's it... Pass the tacos, so very tasty and good for you,...

Sojourner
I remember the smell of the chrism oil ... I didn't wash that part of my forehead for a while because I wanted it to linger longer. So beautiful, hsmom ... I am so happy for you all. Would that I could have been there myself. My prayers are with you all.

PedroX
Oh, I wish I could have been there. Of course, Homeschool daughter doesn't talk to me, so there would have been that. Anyway, may all the blessings and graces of God fall on you and your family. Yeah!! peace...
