The Classics to me are older than 50-60 Years Old. So that would exclude anything in the 50's-80's
So for you, classics are more Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Bing Crosby, Judy Garland, Artie Shaw, and Jimmie Rodgers-esque? I agree on that, but I agree things later than that are classics too. Music of now is classics in the making. Nas' Illmatic, destined to be a rap classic.

Thing is, most people don't even know what a classic is. They're too confined to what's popular. Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, Stones are so...vanilla, if that's a good way to describe them. You have to look for something and make it a classic. Not just something someone tells you is a classic.

Noel's angel

Simon and Garfunkel are Not vanilla, thy are popular because they make good music, i like loads of artists who arent as popular as them and i would still like simon and garfunkel if they werent as popular because i listen to music that i like, popular or not, and their music is certainly not vanilla. So there

Tracey, i understand where you come from on the statement on Vanillia, but i think it comes to the point of they only know the Popular songs, But if you get a true fan then you have the classics.

As far as this thread goes, i love all the artists you've put. I love anything with good acoustic artists, but i have recently seen what it takes to be a decent rapper, not a great one like P5C, Apollo, Sammy, MC Just and all those cats, but just decent, and let me tell you it's not a walk in the park, and it's fo sho not fake!

You'd be faking and shaking to the word of God but you depreciate the words that have inspired them and that they appreciate? man that is wack!

Noel's angel

I know not only the popular songs of Simon and Garfunkel and Paul Simon as a solo artist, but also probably every song they recorded, i could list them all, but it would take up about 2 hours of my time and no one would read them all anyway
