Hmmm... a year ago I wrote a similar story. Same premise, same plot. 4 years ago, I wrote a story that turned up in Buffy as the story arc of the entire 5th season... I'm beginning to feel like Truman. But yeah, I'm gonna watch the Village. He's a good director~
whatever lol............ srry i have a hard believin that

Woo.. I must be the only one then who loved this movie...

Honestly I don't know what the big deal is with the whole "plot twist" thing... Everyone seems to be pivoting their opinion of the show on that ONE aspect 'cos he gave everyone a shock with The Sixth Sense... To me the plot twist here didn't even feel like one, and everyone I knew who watched it kinda figured it out before they even watched it... the plot (the aspect that actually matters) itself is nice; I guess it's been kinda done before, but not with Shyamalan's great direction...

For me, I thought The Village was directed SUPERBLY, acted SUPERBLY (props for the blind girl... she's so new but better than anyone I've seen in a LONG time, and I'm VERY critical when it comes to movies), and the whole atmosphere was kept consistent throughout... I can say honestly that I've become jaded when it comes to movies (I thought Mystic River was only so-so despite the reviews cos the whole abused adolescent thing's just old... kinda reminds me of Sleepers too) but this movie made me sit up and want to watch it again... the last movie that made me feel that way was the Return of the King and look how much effort it took for them to make it!

Lastly, I love how Shyamalan actually shows you the "creatures"... I was getting sick of all those films that built you up for a scare only to never show you the thing you're supposed to be scared of. Subtlety, schumubtlety. Show me some monsters!

I prefer the pschyological horrors rather then the gory ones. I am still waiting for a director that could rival Hitchcock in regards to the scaryiness factor and pshcologocial value (although never seen a hitchcock film) i should...so its tuff for me to judge its more of what i heard but the director is good i saw signs and thought it was a decent film.

Brother Adam

Okay, someone give away the ending and what the meaning behind it is since I won't go see it anytime soon.

Oh man, I feel like such a fool for paying for this flick and wasting 90 minutes of my life on it. I wanna get my $6 back and beat the junk out of M. Night Shaya-whatever-the-fudge.
