I'd never heard of this till I went to Franciscan. But maybe you have.

And dang, I forgot The "St." before Maximillian Kolbe. <_<

yeah, i struggled with trying to do St. Louis de Monfort's 30-day preparation, but always messed up....eventually i just prayed a novena to Our Lady and joined MI. i think i'll try to one according to St. Louis next semester....hopefully i'll make the time to read all of "True Devotion to Mary"

there's a little book called something like "Total consecration to mary accoring to St. Louis de Monfort" that outlines a calendar of daily prayers, readings, and reflections for 30 days. then, at the end, ther's a consecration prayer and things. it's very good and thorough. at steubie, they had a campus wide program of it, with a special consecration mass at the end.

but i think if you red his "true devotion," that would be good preparation.

I've read the Ture Devotion to Mary, and I'd love to do the consecration, but it seems like you need to have like a ceremony and I'm not quite sure how that would work.

I am 99% sure the De Montfort book IS titled "Total consecration to mary accoring to St. Louis de Monfort" but I can't find my copy right now... So long as I have it by next March! lol (I think its somewhere in my bedroom...)

Am I the only one who has been consecrated via the De Montfort method? lol I really think its great. You renew your consecration yearly (it can also be done daily!). After the first year you don't *have* to go through the 30 day prep but its a wonderful preyer "exercise" if you do (I used to say them daily even when I wasn't preparing).

you don't have to have a special ceremony, i don't think. like all devotions to saints or Our Lady, it's at it's core a private dedication of one's self. if you do it in a group, however, oftentimes, there will be a group profession of consecration. if you want that, i would say find a priest and ask if he would lead you through preparation.

littleflower's right....the St' Louis de Monfort way's scheduled around Marian feastdays and St' Louis de Monfort's feast. but you can really do it whever you want, Mary won't mind ;). besides, there's no time in heaven but eternity
