HI all, thanks for all the prayers.

So it's been a long 24 hours, but here's the best updat I can give...

I got home this afternoon and went straight to the hospital. When I got there my Dad looked great and was in good spirits. The steroids have reduced the swelling and he is coherent again. I'll leave out all the details and get to the main point though.

He has a malignant mass at the base of his cerebellum (sp?). They will do surgery Friday at 7:30am EST. Surgery is expected to last about 4 hours. This is a relatively invasive surgery, involving removal of part os the skull. Provided that all goes well it sounds at this point as if his long term prognosis is very good. He has a crack team of doctors and the surgeon is the top in his field here in the area.

Thank you again for your prayers. This has all unfolded so quickly. Please keep the medical team in your prayers as well. I have been so pleased observing the various hospital folk in action. He has been blessed with some lovely folk at his bedside.

Ok, I need to sleep. Thanks Pham!

that's good to hear that the swelling went down. I'll say a prayer for the Surgeons that they may do a great job and keep your dad safe!

God Bless

Thanks Jason. I just spoke to the nurse. THings are going ok, but they're just really getting started and are not in the cranium yet.

I told my Dad this morning that the Pham was praying for him. He really appreciates it! :)

Just a quick note,

We just spoke to the surgeon and he said that all went very well. They got all the tumor and it was a malignant melanoma. He also still seems to have full function ie, limbs, speech, etc.

BTW, today is my feast day-St. Birgitta of Sweden!! Conikiedink? i think NOT!
More soon! Thanks for your continued prayers! Birgitta
