Microsoft Xp Home Edition Question

Does anyone know if a Word program (word 2002 or 2003, not wordperfect) is included in windowsxp home edition?

I've never had a Windows PC without Word pre-installed. But maybe that was something my company did...

Most of the companies (e.g. Dell, HP, et al) install XP AND Word before it ships as part of the basic thing. But if you go out and BUY XP to install yourself you will not have MS Office. You would have to buy Microsoft Office (a few hundard).

thank you all. I'm looking into a laptop, and haven't the luxury of avoiding the pc market. Word is a must. I'm looking at a Dell, so Iacobus may have the ticket. Danke, everyone.

you have to buy pc? i just got an apple powerbook G4 a couple months ago and i love it! and i bought the student edition of office (with the student discount) and it has word, excel, powerpoint.

I got the student version of Office too. It saved a lot of money, and I am a student.
