ilovechrist
And the Pacers (next years champs) had the best record in the NBA.
as a future sports analyst, i must step in here... next years champs? paleeze. they haven't done squat to improve their roster---they even got rid of al harrington! the 2 teams to watch out for this year in the East are the Cavs and Heat. if Shaq can convince Malone to come with him, the Heat will be extremely difficult to beat. the West.. is completely unpredictable. with kenyon martin, the nuggets have the favor right at this moment. they have a MASSIVE amount of strength, something that the Lakers won't be able to match, unless they get a couple lower-pay veterans to come in and back up (like vlade divac, who they've signed). the Rockets now have Tracy McGrady--good for them. he can compete openly against Kobe now. big whoop. i still don't see them as championship material. the other Texas teams? who knows... Pop and Cuban always have tricks up their sleeves... if San An. can stay healthy, they got a good shot at it.
ilovechrist
why in the WORLD did Shaq trade himself ? IS HE CRAZY?
he wants to start over. he wants to play with others that play as a TEAM. so.. i don't label him as crazy. he is going to shake the balance of power between the East and West its gonna be 1 heck of an allstar game this year!!!
come on the Pacers are so the team to beat they have all 5 of last years starters and they all have one more year of experance under there belts. This is great because Reggie is the only old man on the roster. All the rest of them needed the experiance and will be great next year.

RemnantRules
allis...you keep saying the Pacers are the ones to beat but are you forgetting someone in the East *COUGH* PISTONS!!! *COUGH* I mean they did win it all this year and they resigned everyone this off-season so i say they are the team to beat until otherwise!
uh---no they didn't. Okur has gone to the Jazz, and James is deciding upon offers from the Lakers and Sonics. sure they have their starters back---but without their bench they had last year, they wouldn't have accomplished their feat!
and its gonna cost them AND the Magic-- cuz with Dwight Howard there, he and Francis are gonna be battling for the title of Orlando... and TMac will take a while to get accustomed to his new teamates, as all do. RemnantRules
meh...if you lose two players from the bench that's not horrible, but losing two or three guys as starters, like the Lakers, then you have a problem, the Pistons don't

RemnantRules
yess....we shall see....lol. somehow it's going to be some random team going to make it like the Nuggets and the Knicks, i know it probably won't but i think it would be funny.
littleflower+JMJ
i thnk the spurs didn't win it the next year because when you lose a player your not the same team...meaning everyone (like shaq)will need at least a yaer to play with their new team....... so the pistons can come back especially with the points jason made and the fact that the West is not as dominate as it use to be...... but i still want the spurs to win....
yess....we shall see....lol. somehow it's going to be some random team going to make it like the Nuggets and the Knicks, i know it probably won't but i think it would be funny.
