Hey Church Scholors,

I was wondering if it is appropriete to ask a close friend that has died that was Catholic, for there prayers on your behalf? It'd be the same thing as the intercessory of saints.

Thanks a lot!

Pax Christi,

Eddie

It is not wrong, we are very close to those who die. The feast of All Saints is the special day we remember all thos who have gone before us marked with the sign of faith. We do believe in purgatory where the souls of those not yet ready to enter the Kingdom spend time being purified and helped by our prayers. The formally canonised saints are those we know have entered into glory whereas I said All Saints Day November 1 is especially designed to honour those not formally canonised and have no special feast day.
