StColette
I think some do, well I was reading in the Bible last night in fact that we should not follow dreams, unless we know that they are sent by God to us for a purpose Last night in my dream I was praying the Rosary so I think that dream had some meaning
Christ's Knight
Does the Bible specify which dreams? Dreams whilst we slumber? or Dreams as in ambitions & worldly goals?

Churchnerd24/7
I think that some dreams mean something but others dont. I had this one two nights in a row now...and it takes place today at my softball game. Ok so in this dream I was at my game and was on base!! YAY!! And so then i someone hit the ball and i got to 2nd base, and then i stole 3rd. and the softball got behind the catcher so my coach told me to go home. I ran in to home and slid to home plate, i slid fine and was safe but after stoping at home my ankle must have been sitting weird and the catched fell on me as she was trying to tag me. Well when she fell on me she fell on my ankle and I couldn't walk on it. So I went to the doctor and he said that I had to stay off of it for two weeks and that I would have to use krutches to get around. So I went and got them and he put a little brace on my ankle. And then all of a sudden it was Friday in my dream and I was at an American English concert wtih my friends (of corse on krutches) and we had a fun time..then the next thing i know its Sat. and my boyfriend is at my house to pick me up that morning and we go to Indiana with his family to visit his aunt. And we ended up staying the whole day there. then iwoke up..lol Any idea if that ment anything? ~Ashley~

Catholic_4_Life
I dunno, but I had a really strange dream one night a week or two ago. I was a priest and I was messing it all up...I didn't have a homily for the mass, I didn't bring the Eucharist "wafers" to be blessed...I was running around lighting candles and praying for a miracle to get me through the mass...My dream was good for one thing...it told me that I am not meant to be a priest! Norseman82
I think some do, well I was reading in the Bible last night in fact that we should not follow dreams, unless we know that they are sent by God to us for a purpose
Could you post the passage? I will add that we often dream about our hopes, fears, worries, goals, and obsessions in the real world (like my famous "playing football against Klingons" dream). StColette
This is what the Catholic Encyclopedia says about dreams http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/05154a.htm It makes references to the passage I read. qfnol31
Some dreams can come from angels and I think even Saints, but I'm not sure about the last one. Angels can even place images in your head during the middle of the day.
Quietfire
I've studied dreams for years. Most dreams are simply a playback of past or anxiety of an upcoming events, although most times distorted. Dont put too,too much into them unless you study them first. Most dreams are just a way for the body to release anxiety. Simply put...when we sleep and go into a r.e.m. sleep, it allows our minds to go 'insane', releasing everything that we couldnt, shouldnt or wouldnt do when awake. Although I would never interpret dreams for people, I suggest if they interest you, then keep a dream diary next to your bed. After waking up immediately record anything you remember. color, numbers(not for the lottery) clothing. Often over time, your dreams develop a pattern. You can even train yourself to dream about certain things. I never put stock into trying to interpret them. Although Ive had some wierd ones that came true. I take it all with a grain of salt. Like I said, its not meant to be a fortune teller thing. But after a while you can kind of sense when something is amiss by your dreams. Peace. Catholic_4_Life
How many of you have had a "deja vu"? You know, where you have dreamt something that actually happens? I always freak out when I find myself in one of those...it scares me!
Quietfire
Those arent as bad as a living deja vu. Stuff like, I was on my way to pick up my sis for dinner, I dropped my brother off at the restaurant (only had a two seater) and on my way was car jacked(actually they wanted the car, it was a vette, my money, and me) I kept thinking of my sis and bro and that they were waiting for me. They both told me later that they had experienced a sense of fear and a feeling to run. My sis almost started to run in the general direction of the area I was in, but her husband talked her out of it, telling her she was nuts. Or the time I begged my husband to go to his grandmothers house(we were two blocks away) cause I had a bad feeling for the last few hours that something was wrong. He just wanted to head home so we did. We got home and there was a message, his grandfather had died and they were trying to reach us. Or the time I spent 3 months tracking my uncle down (long story) and when I finally did, I sent him a letter telling him how much I loved him and that all my memories of him as a child were wonderful and that I just wanted to tell him that. He wrote me back a two page letter thanking me and telling me that he always thought wonderful things for me and my siblings, and that night he died in his sleep. My aunt mailed it the next day. I got the letter the same day I found out he had died. I got a bunch more of these. My mom said it runs in her family. (She knew when my dad's mom had passed away- and she lived 1500 miles away from us) I can just concentrate on my brother and he'll call me on the phone. creeeeeepy. wanna see? Peace. Sojourner
Usually I don't remember my dreams, but I've had strange dreams at various points, usually when something really significant is going to happen or has happened in my life. For example, in the months after I left my Protestant church and leading up to my confirmation, I had numerous really odd, scary dreams. Thankfully I've not had those recently. I've also experienced dream deja vu a couple of times; it's really weird. And sometimes I'll know things that I shouldn't be able to know. But I attribute that to a really strong intuition.
