Paladin D
WAHOO!!! I'm not sure if I need Confirmation before Confession, or whatnot. But since I've told Fr. Dennis (my pastor) that I already am very knowledgable of the teachings of the Church, I went to my first Confession. He helped me out, and explained somethings. It wasn't as smooth as I wanted it to be, but he was very bright and happy that I was taking the next step on this spiritual journey. I told him that Satan has really been pounding me ever since I started this path, and he compeletely agreed and understood. Afterwards, he said I could go to Communion (since I know what it is, I don't need RCIA on it). Only thing I really need to do, is talk to him about Confirmation. Paladin D
Also on a side note: Fr. Dennis met with Bishop Francis (of the Diocese of Richmond). To put in a nutshell, Bishop Francis being a big guy loves food, has a great sense of humor, knows what he wants to do with this diocese, and is loyal to the Church. HE IS A MAJOR BLESSING TO OUR DIOCESE! It's funny though, Fr. Dennis at the end of Mass was saying how he went to a meeting with about 10 other priests to meet Bishop Francis. Though considering the Diocese of Richmond was very liberal (it's changing, thanks to Bishop Francis), Fr. Dennis went with his casual wear. When he walked in, the rest of the priests were wearing their nice black vestments, and Fr. Dennis was wearing shorts, a t-shirt, and sandals. He was somewhat embarrased, and warned the Bishop that "This is my lake uniform" (since our community lives a stone throw away from Lake Gaston, look it up on a Virginia/North Carolina map, it's along the border). There is much much hope for our diocese, and it figures too... Bishop Francis is originally from Philadelphia DON'T MESS WITH US YANKEES!!! jasJis
Paladin, I haven't been visiting as often, but I'm excited for you! Especially about you receiving the Eucharist!! I will add you to my prayers at Mass tonite. I'll pray that you receive graces to deepen your love of , and understanding of the Sacramental graces that Jesus gave us through the Church, so you will become more intimate with God's love for you. It is all about God's love for you!
