ReformationNow
Can a Pastor of another denomination forgive sins or only Catholic priests? ironmonk
Can a Pastor of another denomination forgive sins or only Catholic priests? Do you feel that clergy of another denomination are valid? Just some random, rambling thoughts... Only Catholic Priests... ( but in all actuallity, it is Christ who forgives the sins through the Priest... just like it is the Power of Christ that drives out demons, not the power of the Priest... Faith does play a part in the demon thing though...) Orthodox can do so for Orthodox, or if a Catholic is on his deathbed and no Catholic Priest is around... Succession from the Apostles is key here. If you would like a longer answer, just let me know... Here is what the Catechism says about it: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt1sec...2chpt3art10.htm God Bless, ironmonk Edited September 4, 2003 by ironmonk
