XIX
I would add Arlen Specter, the "moderate" Republican from Pennsylvania. He voted in favor of the amendment,, but he is very much pro-abortion. He is about to face a re-election year, so his votes may be more conservative than usual. He's also the head of the GOP, so he has a lot of power. Even if a Democrat (Hoeffel in this case) was in office, he would not be as much of an adversary to the unborn babies. Hoeffel is pro-abortion too, so maybe write in Pat Toomey or somebody. DO NOT VOTE FOR ARLEN SPECTER!!! Edit: Spelling, and using the "pro-choice" euphemism. conservativecatholic
A sad day for the Federal Marriage Amendment. Here are the US Catholic Senators who helped defeat it in the Senate. Out of the 50 senators who voted against the amendment, 14 were Roman Catholic. If only 12 of them would have been faithfu to the Church, gay marriage would be defined illegal today in the US Constitution. These senators must be voted out! Write letters to your Bishops if any of these senators represent your state. Luckily, none from good ol' Texas stopped the amendment. May God Bless! The amendment still has a chance to be passed so contcact your senators! Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr., D Sen. John B. Breaux, D Sen. Susan Collins, R Sen. Tom Daschle, D Sen. Christopher J. Dodd, D Sen. Richard J. Durbin, D Sen. Tom Harkin, D Sen. Edward M. Kennedy, D Sen. Mary L. Landrieu, D Sen. Patrick J. Leahy, D Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski, D Sen. Patty Murray, D Sen. Jack Reed, D Sen. John E. Sununu, R
conservativecatholic
It's sad that John McCain will be speaking at the Republican National Convention. But, I'm sure he'll get George Bush the liberal Republican/conservative Democrat vote. John McCain should just leave the party like Jim Jeffords did a while back. I would rather have a higher quality party than a majority!
Congresswoman Marilyn Musgrave, R-Colo., has introduced the Federal Marriage Amendment (H.J. Res. 56) as a proposed constitutional amendment, which will remove the definition of marriage from the reach of all legislatures and courts permanently. This amendment simply states: "Marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union between a man and a woman. Wade by getting the Senate to declare that life begins at conception. I just signed numerous petitions to various senators that she sent me. She's also the Legislative Director of the National Pro-Life Alliance. http://www.prolifealliance.com Sign the petitions... they need 1 Million...
