Ziggamafu
How do the Saints "hear" us? And if we can even pray silently to them, doesn't that suggest they can "hear" all our thoughts? That would mean they can read hearts, correct? If Mary can read our minds and know our thoughts - all of us on the planet or in the Church - doesn't that suggest she's omniscient? Just how far can we push the "resurrected bodies outside time and space have greater mental processing power" argument? And doesn't it tread on the thin line of surrendering an "omni" attribute that soley belongs to God? It would seem if I can pray silently to a Saint, then (because they have a 24/7 broadcast of my mind) they already know what I'm about to pray before I pray it. To be aware of all individual human thought, to be able to understand it, and to be able to process it, all suggests omniscience.
BLAZEr
Saints can hear our prayers becauase they are: 1. In totally union with God, which means that they desire what he desires for us. 2. They exist not in time, but in eternity. In eternity, all the desires of everything in Time is known because the eternal contains time within it. I know it seems Star Trekkie, but that's not a bad analogy . . . If you know Star Trek and want to hear my Q and Borg analogies for the communion of the Saints, send me a Private message.
