little_angel202
i'm not sure but i know that you die faster from lack of sleep than lack of food so i guess its a need!!! ~ God bless Katy
picchick
In the hierarchy of needs, sleep is one of the basic needs with food. I hated psyc class. How come I remember things from that class when I didn't like it and thought it was all hokey and I can't remember anything that I need to know? God Conquers
A certain amount of sleep is a need. Then it becomes a want.
Mrs. Bro. Adam
You need sleep to recharge your body, but it becomes a want when you begin to sleep over the amount of time needed to recharge.

p0lar_bear
Need If you stay awake for too long, you actually start hallucinating...then your body pretty much shuts down and forces you to sleep.
VanHooty
Yeah. Sleep is a biological necessity that is required for living. There are people like me who can get by with 3 or 4 hours of it. We are called insomniacs, and we are in a perpetual haze of tiredness and confusion. Then there are people who get 10 to 12 hours of sleep. These people are called "disaffected high school or college students," and usually could be doing more productive things. Granted, I could be doing more productive things... so... it usually balances out in the end.

Lil Red
it's a need, but i could fall asleep instantly anywhere, anytime, so for me it's more like a want most of the time.
mmmerf
I think it's an addiction. If I go more than two days without it, it's all I can think about until I get a fix.
