Conception Abbey - Benedictine monks in northwest Missouri - received three postulants on July 7th. Brother Mark Nelson professed solemn vows on July 11th. They have another brother in temporary vows, and three novices.

From Mount Angel Abbey and Seminary in Oregon: As of June 28, all four men who were transitional deacons in Mount Angel Seminary’s graduating class of 2024 have been ordained to the priesthood: (from left to right) Fr. Anthony Shumway (ordained June 28 for the Catholic Diocese of Salt Lake City), Fr. Michael Williams (ordained May 25 for the Archdiocese of Las Vegas), Fr. Maximiliano Muñoz (ordained June 1 for the Archdiocese of Seattle), and Fr. James Ladd (ordained June 22 for the Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon).

St. Joseph Benedictine Abbey (monks) in Louisiana has accepted two novices. They already have one novice (I assume he will profess first vows soon) and five monks in first vows. https://www.saintjosephabbey.com/news/fourcade-baker-enter-novitiate-at-abbey?fbclid=IwZXh0bgNhZW0CMTAAAR1igIPHeQmZRkkoF6iXbRo-jLa_Y5MMSl0DuBhKHtXJUl-aukYuOY1U5S8_aem_Li-Q3wjXP1ge1jE1ST_8SA

Update on the Dominican friars of the Central Province (St. Albert the Great):

1 priest ordained

1 deacon to be ordained (but I haven't seen a date for that yet)

1 friar made solemn vows

7 out of 8 novices made first vows

6 new novices will be admitted in August 8, the feast of St. Dominic

They now have a total of 18 men in first or solemn vows in formation at Aquinas Institute in St. Louis.

Update on the Dominican friars of the southern province (St. Martin DePorres):

1 priest ordained

1 deacon to be ordained (but I haven't seen a date for that yet)

6 out of 6 novices will profess first vows

Hey Luigi!

I know the Novitiate for the Eastern Privince for Novices is St. Gertrude's in Ohio, where are the other novitiates at?

You're referring to the Dominican novitiates.

Eastern - St. Gertrude's in Ohio; then they go to Washington DC for the studentate..

Central - Denver, CO, at St. Dominic's parish for the novitiate. They recently expanded that priory to have 10 rooms for novices, and they did that just in time for classes of eight last year and six this year. After first vows, they go to St. Louis, MO for the studentate at Aquinas Institute (AI). AI is right next to St. Louis University (a Jesuit institution), and the AI students can cross-register for certain classes, or finish at AI and then pursue further degrees at SLU.

Southern - Houston, TX for the novitiate. Then they also go to St. Louis for the studentate at Aquinas institute. St. Dominic's priory in St. Louis has about 50 rooms, but the house is nearing capacity since all the Central and Southern student friars (33 this year) live there, as well as some senior friars (Aquinas faculty, formators, etc.).

Western - San Francisco, CA for the novitiate. Their studentate is also in San Francisco.
