This simple truism sprang to mind as I recently studied the life of Blessed Stanley Rother.

 

 

I dont think that Father could be the first, although maybe the first for North America.  There were those Jesuit priests in South America that predate Fr R. ?...........or were they North America ?

Or am I totally confused ?????
