Credo in Deum
On 10/1/2024 at 7:38 AM, kyledewolf85 said: pride noun 1. a feeling of deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one's own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated, or from qualities or possessions that are widely admired Example: the team was bursting with pride after recording a sensational victory 2. consciousness of one's own dignity Example: he swallowed his pride and asked for help 3. confidence and self-respect as expressed by members of a group, typically one that has been socially marginalized, on the basis of their shared identity, culture, and experience Example: the bridge was lit up in rainbow colours, symbolic of LGBT pride The concept of "Pride Month," which celebrates LGBTQ+ identities and rights, can be seen as complex in relation to Roman Catholic teaching on pride as a sin. In Catholic theology, pride is often considered one of the seven deadly sins, representing an excessive belief in one's own abilities or importance, leading to a rejection of God’s authority. However, the celebration of "Pride Month" is primarily focused on affirming the dignity, identity, and rights of LGBTQ+ individuals, promoting acceptance and inclusion rather than the sinful pride that the Church warns against. The Church teaches that all individuals deserve respect and love, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. The Catechism of the Catholic Church emphasizes the dignity of every person, stating: > "The dignity of the human person is rooted in his creation in the image and likeness of God" (CCC 1700). Thus, while the term "pride" in "Pride Month" may conflict with the traditional understanding of pride as a sin, the underlying message of affirming human dignity and promoting love and acceptance does not inherently contradict Catholic teaching. The Church encourages compassion and understanding toward all individuals, calling for a pastoral approach that respects their dignity while upholding its moral teachings. In summary, the celebration of "Pride Month" does not necessarily contradict Catholic teaching if understood in the context of affirming human dignity and promoting love, rather than the sinful pride that the Church condemns. Incorrect. Celebrating Pride Month is a call to ally with the LGBTQ community, a community which is anti-Christian at its core. The LGBTQ community is an entity that claims to speak for all who struggle with SSA. Within this “community” there is no place for those with SSA who follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ. They are outright hostile towards any LGBTQ person who would affirm Christ’s Gospel and the authority of the Catholic Church. Supporting Pride Month is to support a way of life contrary to human dignity and love.

The LGBT 'community' in my opinion have ben and continue to be used as simple peons to attack decency and Christian heritage (specifically Catholic heritage). Many within this 'comunity' are genuine in their sentiment and don't realize the bigger picture of what they are part of. The '+' is coming out more and more, can is crazier all the time. Many who found their place in the LGBT 'community' are trying to distance themselves from it now... horrid and indefensible things are riding coat-tail and coming to light...
