Yes Morph, that debate on that thread on FCFC has been going on for 3 weeks now, there is still no response from them as of yet, after Vera's three posts, my post, and phatcatholic's post. Give them time and they'll respond lol

I think that the misunderstanding of the parallel between baptism and circumcision has its roots in a mis-reading of what the Apostle meant by works.

(much of where I getting this come from N.T. Wright)

Circumcision is a work, which may or may not, involve faith as pointed it out, nor is it a sacrament. It is however a sign of the covenant, but it does not transfer grace as a sacrament does. It does not wash away sin.

Baptism is act of faith, (a work that with out our faith dies?) by which we are made righteous, righteousness is being part of God's Family, and it washes away original sin. It is not only a sign of our faith it is something that transforms our being.

I have never really thought about this but I think that Baptism fulfills everything that Circumcision was meant to but could not.

I might think about this and right more later.

I hope this jump starts your brain.
