When are kids able to handle misogynistic jokes without buying into misogyny?

I think the word misogony, much like racism, has been overused to the point of no longer being meaningful.

Misandry is far more commonplace today than misogony, but there are probably people here who have never even heard the word.

A joke at the expense of feminine stereotypes is not misogony.  In fact, it seems to me that jokes that play against the stereotypes of men vs women could actually be very helpful in our culture, which seems literally hell-bent on destroying the very concepts of men and women.

There are a couple in here that some might call "sexist", or erroneously "misogynistic".  Please enjoy:

How about how women belong in the kitchen and men at better than women?

Do you mean jokes about these things?  That probably depends on the context and circumstances.

Do you have an example of a joke that says how women belong in the kitchen?  If you give me a specific example I'll make my best judgement.

I've never once heard anyone say that men are better than women in general, or even implied it, and I come from a very traditional family and culture.  I have heard, and I espouse, the exact opposite: that women are generally better than men (and by better, I mean holier; closer to God).

Men are better than women at certain things, and women are better than men at certain things.  To deny this is to deny creation, and all truth.

Men and women are not the same.  Nor are they necessarily equal, which is a very loose term and only possibly applicable in the most abstract sense.  They are complimentary.  They are as God intended.  And that is good.

My wife was once feeling down and told me, "I'm just an old, fat, black woman."

I replied, "Awww, sweety, you're not that black."

I'm pretty proud I avoided the misogynistic joke opportunity.

And how long were you in the hospital for?   😄

I'm really confused by the question because nobody should ever really make such jokes(if indeed they really are appropriate and insensitive)- - and  kids should know that those kinds of jokes aren't even funny. I think the question is  what should kids do when they hear  adults saying  dumb things…

Especially those fourth trimester abortions-they make things so messy.

Messy it’s not the word that comes to mind about such a thing
