1337 k4th0l1x0r
My girlfriend was telling me about how she went to a Mass at an African-American Catholic Church. It sounded really neat and I want to go sometime. It's got the Gospel music normally associated with black protestant churches and the liturgy of the Mass. Then again, black churches of protestant denominations are much more musical than their typical white counterparts.
conservativecatholic
This article was great! Although I am quite the traditionalist, I respect everyone's traditions, especially those of the Catholic African Americans.
Crusader_4
we were sitting around at a retreat with a priest who worked in Africa and he was saying that a mass in AFrica was completley different then one in Canada. He said its a cultural difference us who are based upon English solemnity compared to African vibrancy and during mass in African he would often have ppl just jump up and start singing and it was a whole different expereicen of the mass not nesscairly less valid or less reverent just different perspecitve.
