Gluttony?.... Advice

Hey everyone!

I just came on here to ask for some advice.

So, I went to confession on Sunday and at the time of my confession, I felt that I had a firm amendment not to sin. However, later that day, during dinner I believe that I might have committed gluttony. I felt that I was getting full/ if not a little full already, and I had one extra bite to eat. While I was chewing, I thought "maybe this is gluttony, perhaps, I should spit out this bite of food." Instead, I thought to myself: “no, this is fine.” and finished that bite. To be clear, I wasn’t overly full after finishing that bite, just normally full. Where is the line for gluttony?  Have I committed gluttony, and if so, considering that I went to confession less than twelve hours before, would this be considered not having a firm purpose of amendment, and therefore, an invalid confession? As you can probably tell, I struggle with scrupulosity, but I just want to be careful and not blithe. Any advice would be really appreciated.

You should be taking to a spiritual director, not us. A single bite when you are kind-of-but-not-really full is not gluttony.

Agree with @Nihil Obstat

just wanted to say something about this ^ though. Just because you sin after confession, doesn’t mean you didn’t have a firm purpose of amendment. That’s the human condition, to keep sinning and getting back up. When you were in the confessional, were you planning on being gluttonous later that day? No? Then you’re good. Also, I don’t think that’s gluttony at all. But anyway, you should get a spiritual director, esp if you struggle with scrupulosity

I also suggest you find a good spiritual director, especially if you struggle with  scrupulously – – it has helped me immensely to overcome  scrupulously. Also, I think there has been some great advice here. You seem like you are trying to do  your best to live a holy life. Keep going, don't become discouraged,  just keep getting up from your  falls, no matter how painful. Jesus didn't shed his blood   in vain,    ask him to cover  in his precious blood and to hide you in Hiswounds.
