I was asking because he's been previously denied entrance at the request of the Moscow Patriarch. StColette Posted July 14, 2004 Share Posted July 14, 2004 I have not heard anything about the Pope visiting to Russia all that he merely said was that he wished that the Icon be returned to Kazan for that is its correct place to be. Kazan has built a special church for the icon. The reason that the Icon left Kazan in the first place was because of the destruction of their Church there, luckily someone had removed the Icon in time before any damage could be done to it.
