The next couple of days will dictate whether or not I need to return to hospital.  Quite possibly if I do need to return, I will need surgery on my bowel.  I am hoping fervently, I wont need to go back to hospital and certainly not for bowel surgery.  Surgery would put me right off my feet for too long and living alone especially, one cannot afford time out.  Not only that, but it seems to me surgery can correct a problem .... but perhaps create two others.   The problem I have now is very likely to have been caused by adhesions from abdomen surgery 5 years ago.  But they cannot say for sure unless they operate.   (Lower bowel obstruction)

St Bonaventure is the patron saint of bowel disorders http://www.catholic-saints.info/patron-saints/saint-bonaventura.htm

A prayer very much appreciated and I will be praying for your own intentions, as well as my own.  I am scared!

Thanks heaps!

Thank you for prayer.  I am technically out of the wood and all systems functioning normally and reason for absolute relief and thanksgiving.  However, I am left with overwhelming fatigue and tiredness, an aching body all persevering a week after leaving hospital.  Trying to get in to see a doctor is very difficult and I have transport problems.

Also, my little Maltese Cross, Buddie, needs to see the vet rather urgently.  Problem is transport.  Missie, our darling little cat got very ill very quickly and a week before I was hospitalized, she had to be put to sleep.  Both Buddie and I are grieving.

Nothing lasts forever.  Deo Gratius Laudate Dominum.  I cling to these things for dear life and put just one foot in front of the other seeking resolution.

Thank you for prayer - you are in my own.

To advise I am still around.  While systems are operating normally, I am still struggling with side effects of the radical treatment inflicted to get systems to work normally.  I have been able to see my GP yesterday, who has put me back on pain killing medication and ordered physiotherapy for only $15 per visit.  He will review in one month.   I will see my psychiatrist Thursday and I am thinking that depression is underlying everything just now.  I am not used to have to deal with (what seems to me to be) severe depression.  Problem for me can be that antidepressants can trigger a manic high.  Thank The Lord I have a good psychiatrist.

It is proving to be a tremendous struggle to stay in contact with Faith and leave Faith in the driver's seat.  I have very brief relief when that me continually in Peace and Joy breaks through, even if only very briefly, as a real consolation and encouragement to know that person is still around, though most often in hiding. "All for Thee, Sacred Heart of Jesus, my Saviour, it is all for Thee no matter no matter what befalls, My Lord, nor dark the hour may be".  He who knows when a hair falls from each and every head, certainly knows my very little struggles (in the big picture) just now.  So many in our world are suffering dreadfully at this time.

I watched a program titled "Media Watch" last night https://www.abc.net.au/mediawatch/.  It was commentary on the part media has played in the spread of what underlies the anti-vaccine movement which seems to be quite strong.  Highlighted, ran the commentary, is bad news in the media.  Media seems to like to run with bad news and highlight it even if not the actual truth.  Although the anchor avoided stating it, "bad news sells".  So often in our world, the dollar runs our society and "You cannot serve God and mammon".  After that, I watched "Four Corners" https://www.abc.net.au/4corners/.  Basically, it was about organised crime in "Crown Casino" in Melbourne for one and the complete failure of regulators to identify and report failures.

My son and his wife took me to Crown Casino when I was in Melbourne.  We were on the ground floor only and I had to ask them to get me out of there.  The opulence overwhelmed all my senses and struck me as extremely overdone and immoral.  I felt sort of as if I was entering hell itself.

My now quite elderly Carmelite Prioress has had a fall and needs surgery on her knee.  A prayer for her very much appreciated too.  She has great support in a younger sister who transferred many years ago and when quite young indeed from another religious order.  I went to her profession into Carmel.  She has been an outstanding help to Carmel Adelaide and she still is.  A real Gift of God.  We only have these two Carmelites in our Archdiocese with another now in a retirement home.

Deo Gratius Laudate Dominum - "We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose." Romans Chapter 8 https://www.vatican.va/archive/ENG0839/__PYW.HTM ........... a really important and not lengthy Chapter in Romans to read.

_____________

I did not intend to write all the above, but put me in front of a keyboard and the 'writer' in me seems to just take over.  :nerd:  Many years ago I read somewhere or other that "a wordy mystic is not a mystic".  So I crossed "mystic?" out of my Potential List.  Years later, I was to read the writings of St Teresa of Avila and St John of The Cross - and so wrote "Confused!" in to my Potential List ... and "Confused!" has remained ever since, right up to today.   I have a poster on the wall over my computer: "The challenge is to be yourself in a world that tries to make you like everyone else".

Confusion is not sinful.  It is not necessarily a virtue, nor of necessity a fault even.  Leave the making up to The Lord and pray the daily prayer of a missionary priest I had read: "Dear Lord, please do not let me get in your way today."
