goldenchild17
Hey, I just wanted to let you all know that I was talking to a friend today at school and all of a sudden she just started to completely tell me everything about herself... Let's just say that I found out quite a bit... She used to be Catholic, grew up Catholic. Then her mother started to fall away and they stopped going to Church. A couple of years later, she started going back to church. Except it was some protestant church. I want to say non-denominational but I'm not sure. Anyways, she is currently not going to church and says that she really can't figure out why her spiritual life, her relationship with God, seems so weak. She said that she hasn't been living the best life that she could be, and that she feels bad about herself whenever she does certain things. She said that she tries to pray to God by herself, but that her prayers just feel superficial and she doesn't know why. She said she doesn't go to church anymore because she feels guilty about what she has done and she doesn't feel very good about going back to church. After talking with her, she said she might try to surprise her family by going back again. But I'm not too sure if she was serious. Anyways, she doesn't seem to hold any grudges against the Catholic Church, not that she made noticeable at least. It seems that she just stopped going because her family know longer went. I may be wrong but it seems to me like there is a good possibility of bringing her back. What do you all think? Should I try it? What would be my first step in convincing someone of the importance of religion and all that? Thank ya's. And I might have more questions as I go through this, so if you could transfer this to the best place you see fit that would be cool. Pio Nono
JMJ 7/10 - Fourteenth Saturday goldenchild17, Inviting her to go to Mass with you on Sunday might be a good first step. Also, offering to read something with her - To Know Christ Jesus by Frank Sheed would be a good starter - might be good, but that could be going a bit too quick. Know of our prayers. Yours, Pio Nono
