SicutColumba
Speaking of Mel Gibson, I literally just got done filing through his filmography looking for a movie that I saw when I was really little that’s on the tip of my tongue. I don’t think he was actually in it because nothing in his filmography corresponded. Would anybody happen to know of a movie that dates from the late eighties to the early two thousands that features two boys who have a time machine in their garage? I think I’m going to go to my grave not having figured out what this movie is. Edited May 13, 2021 by SicutColumba
Ash Wednesday
I wasn't familiar with this priest but his story sounds very interesting. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest I look forward to seeing a film that takes place at familiar places like Carroll and Mt. Angel. I'm optimistic that Mad Max Mel and Marky Mark will do a good job. Luigi
I don't see many movies, but here's a link to Rolling Stone's top ten time-travel films. Maybe "Donnie Darko" or "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure"? https://www.rollingstone.com/movies/movie-lists/best-time-travel-movies-14354/terminator-2-judgement-day-1991-57472/
tinytherese
My aunt, grandma, and me like it. I somehow kept myself from crying towards the end. (You'll know why if you see it.) The movie's rated R, so it's not for kids. Some people will be uncomfortable about how crass it can be. Here's a detailed list of inappropriate content. https://www.pluggedin.com/movie-reviews/father-stu-2022/ A Catholic deacon and film critic reviews it. http://www.decentfilms.com/articles/fatherstu Fr. Seven77
I think it's unfortunate that there are so many instances of cursing – – after a while of not listening to cursing it gets to be very harsh on the ears and it sticks in your brain. Now, I understand that the filmmakers wanted to present a realistic depiction, etc. that would possibly reach out through broader audience, etc., but I really think it it's unnecessary to have so many F bombs in a movie let alone a movie about faith – – I wonder how Father Stu must feel about it? I hear he had a curse jar--- every time somebody said something crude in his presence, coins hit the glass jar. all that said, I may watch it on demand at home so as not to have the words resonate in my ears---- maybe I can watch it filtered through vid Angel or something.
