I was always taught that at the end of the our father you always say amen. I don't know if anything has changed on this but most of the time that I hear the our father is said amen is not at the end of it.

I've noticed that too, Ecspecially during Mass, when we say it together, it's either that or it's mumbled response. A lot of people forget to sometimes, but I always say it...

So do I.

Amen = "So be it"

I think it's funny because all the people in the church during mass are usually American so they say "AAAmen" and I say it with my Latino accent "AmEN" :lol:

Doesn't the prayer continue on (Lord grant us peace in our day... For thine is the kingdom...) and then you say amen?

I think 'Amen' is the way to finish every prayer...but I'm not sure

Since Mass is one long prayer, I guess it's allright not to say Amen to the Our Father, but also if you think about it we say/sing 'Amen' a lot during Mass

I say Amen after evry Our Father in the rosary too...

St. Catherine

I never say Amen after the Our Father at mass. Priest told us not to.

I always the Amen at home when we say it.

God Conquers

Context is important, if in the middle of a larger prayer i.e Mass or the Rosary, I generally won't say Amen after every Our Father. Although... I do still believe at that point! And it's probably not wrong to say it (I'd say never wrong), it just seems funny sometimes.
I say it after praying the Our Father. Though at Mass, you don't say it directly after.
I came to this realization when I was curious about this two weeks ago. :)

That's when I looked it up in the missal.
