Thy Geekdom Come
Yeah, I never really want to drive a minivan. I want a station wagon with wood-esque side panels.
Sojourner wants a woody! I don't like them...too dorky for me...
Dave
Well, looks like it's time to introduce another batch of Phatmassers to what I've survived! Stay tuned for the next 2 posts ...

When I read it, one of my retreat groups was playing basketball in the gym underneath my dorm room and Vera (I think) was posting about school violence near her. crusader1234
That story is sad. If you had been offroading there wouldnt have been a problem though. P.S. Woody-wagons transcend soccer mom's they are like... nostalgia on wheels.
Dave
And now a photo of the aftermath: http://phorum.phatmass.com/index.php?act=A...=post&id=154206 And what's so sad about it? I survived with just minor injuries! Edited July 9, 2004 by Dave
crusader1234
Holy toledo. Those SUVs arent exactly the safest things are they? There was an incident in my city where a brand new Saturn SUV collided with a Firefly, and the firefly got banged up but the people wernet hurt and they drove away got out of the car and walked over to get the Saturn driver's insurance information when the Saturn's fuel tank exploded !!! The big car's driver ended up dying!
Oik
If SUV's aren't safe they should be taken off the road. As for driving them, don't be so hard on suv drivers.
Crusader_4
I have an SUV and we go offroading quite a bit actually.
IcePrincessKRS
haha I want an SUV and I probably wouldn't go offroading in the traditional sense of the term. lol Toyota Corollas get like 40 miles to the gallon, and Toyota Echos get like 43. Almost makes me tempted to get a Corolla or Echo and give up my dream of being an SUV driver.... but honestly, after driving trucks for the past 2 years, getting into other people's smaller cars and driving (not just as passenger but as driver) makes me feel.... exposed and unsafe.... not that their cars really are unsafe, I just don't feel as secure. I'd have to stick to a bigger vehicle. And should we ever become a 2 car family Matt would always have a truck (technically he'd be hard pressed to squeeze his tall frame into a smaller car anyhow lol) so the second car would really be whatever I wanted.... mwahahahahaha
crusader1234
theres always the honda CRV which gets mileage almost comparable to the civic
IcePrincessKRS
My friend has a Honda CRV and I drove it several times during the week I stayed with her (she had surgery and couldn't drive herself) and I hated it. I felt that the seat was much higher and I was really exposed. For those that like them, more power to 'em, but I didn't like it at all...
