Nancy Green was a inspirational figure

Although she played a character, Green was a notable woman in her own right.

  1. She served as one of the founding members of Olivet Baptist Church, the oldest active Black Baptist church in Chicago,
  2. She was a minister and a philanthropist.
  3. She enjoyed a kind of social and economic mobility unavailable to Black women of her time,

Her descendants our saddened and disappointed, too

“This is an injustice for me and my family. This is part of my history,” “The racism they talk about, using images from slavery, that comes from the other side – white people. This company profits off images of our slavery. And their answer is to erase my great-grandmother’s history.”

 God  Bless Nancy Green,
