HomeTeamFamily
do any of yall ever have the same arguement with the same bunch of folks and nothing constructive ever comes out of it? the bottom line is that regardless of whether or not you like it this stuff does happen and it appears as though it will be put to a stop......so the only option that the supporters have is to obey and stop and the only option the non-supporters have is to get off the soap box about how we are "abusing the mass" and whatnot because a resolution is forthcoming! Philippe
debate is healthy though
Aloysius
I thought the reason we have to say the same things over and over every once in a while is because while regulars may have heard it before, new people have not. people came in upset about this decision, that is why the discussion continued PAX
crusader1234
I went on the lifeteen website and boy was it... shocking. I really didn't approve. It seemed like one of those zealous youthgroups thats full of radical traditionalists yet tries to be young and forward thinking at the same time, which usually ends up in disaster so I'm not surprised they are abusing the mass. hopeful1
well, it's been awhile since i checked out the old lifeteen website, used to be my turf before phatmass although i've never been to an official lifeteen mass. I can't speak for everyone that posts there now, but when i was there alot of the kids that i thought were stronger catholics than i was (they prayed the rosary, went to daily mass, adoration, wanted to study and learn more about their faith), many of them sincerely wanting to live their catholic faith. They actually inspired me to want to be a better catholic than i already thought i was. And when the subject of "losing the fire" came up alot of the kids were really encouraging and were like "well remember what you feel at mass/relationship with God/ect. isn't as important as trying to stay faithful inspite of what you feel" so someone out there is giving them that message (again may not be the case of all lifeteen parishes). Just trying to say that not all of them on there are that bad. as for Cmom and Aloysius, i don't think my question was directly answered about the seating arrangement. I'm not trying to debate it, just trying to understand how exactly is it a change in the rubrics?
Aloysius
oh I wasn't against the seating arangement C1234, they're TRADITIONALISTS???!!!!???!!!!! excuse me? what exactly gave you that impression?
