StColette
Okay I'm finally bouncing my way into this topic. I completely agree with the fact that this practice of "altar gather" should be abolished. Only members of the clergy and those who have a designated role during the Consecration. P.S. Nice to meet you too Ryan lol I'm Jennie from Louisiana Edited July 7, 2004 by StColette
xxjjtuffxx
hey ryan but yeah i understand ur stance philippe but then thats kinda like saying, whats more important in a person, the way that they dress, or their personality, u get me? i was saying, what would Jesus care MORE about? but yeah brodes also brought this to my attention Most of the teens dont understand why they are going up there. which ya, degrades the purpose, i like doing it, but yeah i guess it should gone too. im gonna miss it, but yeah i understand. btw cant i be that close to christ in adoration? voiciblanche
my mom was also tellin me that i was judging people because of how they were dressing ... i dont think im being judgemental but please tell me if i am
No way. Not to sound like I'm busting in on your personal life, but I do read the Resistance thread, and I know that you have trouble. I know that you're constantly frustrated when you fall and that you come running back to Christ every time. I look up to you immensely for that, and I pray for you all the time. So, if you're at Mass receiving Christ, Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity, and you can't even do that, the most wonderful thing we can ever do, without having some young lady standing next to you tempting you to sin and throw it all away... that's just wrong, and it's not fair to you. Or the young teenage girls, or the other guys there. Satan is just getting in everywhere, lately, isn't he?

-I---Love
Just reminded me of a joke if it helps out anyone as it has me... St. Theresa of Avila was sleeping; wakes up, turns over, and there is the devil in a large form looming over her and she says so wonderfully, "Oh, it's only you," and she turns back over to go to sleep. When you're tempted...the devil has nothin on us...if spirituality is the ultimate and only power then the devil has no power as St. Theresa so wisely lived. rachael
sorry for the hostility everyone, ya its been one of those nights, where u come home and 50 things just go wrong. so sorry for all those hostile replies. back to the subject philippe, i understand that the clothing that girls are wearing is an isue to u, but.....do u really think that if jesus was watching our mass, he would be more disgusted with the clothes? or do u think he would smile and be happy to see so many teens up at the alter, and yes. I do think that it has somewhat lost its purpose, and ppl go up there more for a social gathering than an alter gathering. but i dont think that those should be reasons to take it away sorry again for all the hostility :-) peace be with yall -James
i agree with you 100%
Paladin D
Good, glad these abuses are going to be dealt with. Unfortunately there isn't a Lifeteen group near me, nearest one (in VA, have to check NC, live near the border) is about an hour drive.
lifeteenchick527
i completely understand how the going to the alter can offen people (i mean it offends my dad, i just found out lol) but would it still be wrong of in the front of church all the teens go into the front pews and sit there... or does that also distract or seperate us from the rest of the congregations... imean we wont be possesive... just like we all sit there ~alena
