Aloysius
yeah that's why I'd like a link or something as well. I see this as amazingly terrific news.
Iacobus
I never was a fan of LT, but somepeople are... so I guess it is good that Rome so loves LT that is critizes it.

Aloysius
correction: can't call it abuse unless they do it after october, because it was allowed up until now under that trial run basis thing.

M.SIGGA
q: why can't the priest say the "mass never ends" statement at the end?
qfnol31
q: why can't the priest say the "mass never ends" statement at the end?
It's bad Theology, the Mass has ended. Mostly because, I think, that the Sacrifice is over. The Mass (including the prayers before and after) is the highest prayer of the Church. One Mass is worth more than all the other prayers by people on Earth, in Purgatory, and in Heaven combined throughout all of history and forever to come! It makes no sense, therefore, that we would still be living out this great Sacrifice, but rather that it has ended. I dunno, that's probably confusing. Aloysius
because we're a universal Church and we dismiss all of our Masses the same way "The Mass has ended, go in peace" When we're in Rome, we do as the Romans do, and respond to "The Mass has ended, go in peace" with "Thanks be to God" Pax Amorque Christi

voiciblanche
kind of reminds me of when we were little during the mass kids were invited to come sit at the altar around the priest while he did his homilies.
I can't stand it when they do that. It always ends up being a specifically-for-children homily. Which is fine if you're five years old, but if you're not, and you go to Mass to enrich your Faith and gain the strength you need to resist the evil one and to receive our Lord, etc., etc., hearing a homily that is almost impossible to do so because of the screaming of the kids that is about how to obey your mummy and dada and give your extra pocket money to the poor in the poor box... is not very helpful, even for a tween. Sorry, I kinda rambled there, but that's how I feel. -_-
Aloysius
The thing is, they're not doing it during the homily. I actually wouldn't have a problem with it if it was the homily, i tend to like those where the priest is talking down to the little children and you have to humble yourself to listen to a message that your intellect tells you you already know and be as a little child listening once again to the simple message. But yeah, I wouldn't quite have a problem if it was during the homily, but during the very high point of the Holy Mass-- the Consecration, i have always seen it as unnecesary clutter. Philippe
i need a link! i want to show my lifeteen director! im not a fan of the altar gather because it turns into a party and girls dress immodestly and it leads you to sin while bread and wine is being transubstantiated into the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity or Jesus Christ our Savior very frusterating... i had an argument with my mom over it
