Was my confession invalid ? I was too vague on purpose

Hi .. I’m concerned about whether my last confession was valid .. As usually I confessed my specific sins of lust though I forgot to mention the number of times I had committed those sins because I was so anxious of confessing one specific sin .. The specific sin I’m talking about was that I was at the store and saw a woman and without her consent took a video of her and then I came home and did impure things by myself while watching that video .. I told the priest “I’m guilty of not loving my neighbor as I should” and I also said “I’m guilty of “disrespecting  women” .. I feel I was too vague and again , it was on purpose .. 

 

Yesterday I attended mass but abstained from receiving Holy Communion because I was having doubts about the validity of my last confession .

 

what are your thoughts ? Was my confession valid ?

In that particular instance, I'd say you were too vague and you were right to have doubts afterwards. I would abstain until next confession. 

That said, talk to the priest about ways to manage anxiety about confession. Rest assured those priests have heard it all and you are not there to be judged, you are there to be forgiven.

You should re-confess that sin; also, make sure you delete the video off your phone. Deleting it will be a sign that your contrition is sincere.

Yeah I think you gotta go back and confess that one holmes. What you did was bad, but I doubt that there is anyone on this forum who has not done worse!

No point in being vague. It ain't like God don't already know what you did.

But yeah sometimes if it is something I am particularly embarrassed about, I will go to a parish that I don't attend regularly and confess it there, just to make sure I am not "found out" by the priests at my main parish. I say try that if you must. But you still gotta confess it.

The next time just say hello to her and skip the vid. I'm just saying.

Thank you everyone who took the time to answer my question. .. and I certainly deleted the video .

Could someone please give me an idea as to how to confess this sin ? The reason I’m asking for help is because I live in a country where the official language is not the same as my native language therefore it’s a little challenging to find the words to confess this sin in a foreign language though it would also be difficult to confess it in my native language..

Although I’m an ex-Catholic, I still gotta respect reality.   Confession is good on a number of levels.  You have to be honest with yourself to confront the behavior that you know is significantly wrong.   If you didn’t, you wouldn’t have been ashamed to tell someone, though my warning flag is raised seeing that you can discuss it here. 
Due to the nature of the act, it took a good amount of sustained intention to commit the act that you know is wrong.   It’s tough to admit and address by yourself.    You’ve got to hold your self accountable.  
 

Hopefully that’s why you posted here and accountability is what you’ll get in Confession.     And only sociopaths aren’t embarrassed or feel guilty, so you’re just like the rest of the normal imperfect people, choosing to try to be better.    I wish you well.

The intentionality of making a vague confession could also itself be mortally sinful (sacrilege), so it would be wise also to confess that in your return visit.
