Email Etiquette

Hello, everybody. I sent an email a couple of weeks ago to the mistress of novices of the community I will be joining about a rather time-sensitive issue and she hasn’t written me back yet. Every other time we’ve communicated by email she would write back within a couple of days. (I have the same problem with one of my profs so this is less a question of discernment than one of proper etiquette for a young person in the world!) I am worried that neither the mistress of novices nor my prof has seen my email. Would it be rude to email the mistress of novices back for a response? I feel it would be terribly so, but I also would like her to see my email. The very last thing I want to do is be rude, and it might be that she has seen my message already and is working on a response, so emailing her again might be poor form. Should I just keep waiting? Thank you.
Please pray that I receive an increase in patience!:smile2::rolleyes:

I have had various occasions where email I've sent (to those in my address book) has not reached the party, or where I didn't receive that sent to me. I would not think it impolite if you wrote that some of your email may not have been getting through, and that you are sending the copy again in case it did not. Much as your prof and novice mistress may have had reasons for delay in responding, it indeed is possible that they did not receive the mail in the first place. It's a common enough occurrence.

This actually what happened. I decided to resend her the message last night and she wrote me back within a couple hours, not at all insulted. She had received my email in the first place but her response hadn’t gone through for some odd reason.  We have had problems like this one before, and sometimes when I send an email it tells me the domain can’t be found even though I’m positive it’s a real address and that I’ve typed it correctly. Anyway, everything is good and in order and I’m glad to have figured that out. Thank you!
