I guess what you are saying is that they joined the armed forces so it's their job. Well that's true, but remember you don't use the excuse that you have an army as an excuse to go to war.

France had the greatest light infantary during WWI. However WWI really taxed them and all of Europe. Everyone wanted to avoid war. This seemed like a way. Plus nobody was really strong, they suffered from the Great War.

And sorry, armored warfare is one of the things that get me talking, or typing as the case may be. I was in armored cav myself....
