I had a computer before computers had hard drives, all it had was 64K of RAM...and the floppies were bigger and barely held anything compared to today recording devices!
we had one that used cassette tapes...

When I was a teen - (I'm 32) - Michael Jackson was still cool ... Atari 2600 was a must have, and MTV actually showed videos.

To start college, I bought a typewriter.

I even remember beta!

Remember it was a toss up which would prevail, VHS or Beta...?

I was at Toys R Us the other day and they were selling those stupid handheld Mettel baseball and football games... the ones with the tiny little light... Do people want those? also, all the other toys are just rehashes of 80's stuff...

I'm not usually cheeky... just like to keep you wrinklies on your toes... 'specially that HSMom, who's old enough to be my own mum...

^_^ ^_^

God bless you, too, Pope St Clement 1. I haven't really seen you around here, so hi. (I would say welcome, but it appears you've been a member for longer than me.) :)

Beta videos - I'd forgotten about them. When did they go out?

Ash Wednesday

I'm going to be 28 in a few weeks.

I remember when Michael Jackson was the king of the world, before he went loopy. He was cute, and amazing.

That and you could wear rainbow suspenders simply because that was in style -- people didn't assume you to be marching in a gay pride parade.

I remember us having a typewriter, and actually using rotary phones.

My siblings and I played Atari 2600, and we used to dance to mom's disco tunes in our living room which had bright red shag carpet.

Speaking of disco, we had both Mickey Mouse Disco and Sesame Street Disco.

I'm hitting the big two-three in less than 3 weeks. I remember just how cool the ninja turtles were when I was a kid. Kids today don't even understand how cool a toy could be.

And the second ninja turtles movie with Vanilla Ice in it was the COOLEST most RAD thing to ever ever come out at the time.

Hi to you too. It's good see a young guy who likes to go to Adoration.

Young girl, but you could be using that as a generic "guy." But thanks. :)

Sorry, Voiciblanche.

I think I'll retire. It's after 2.30 am here in Australia. . -_-

When I was little, we listened to a big old radio in the corner for our entertainment, and water was carried from a well. Plumbing was outdoors, complete with a Sears catelogue for reading and daddy long-legs for company.
Evenings were spent in front of a campfire, if it rained the neighbors came over to play gin rummy. We had an electric stove to cook, and a potbellied stove for winter.
We had no computer, telephone, television, or hand held games. We had books to read and old people to tell stories and sing songs.

And you probably walked to school... in the snow... uphill... both ways...

Yeh, but youre only like 23-24 right? I dont get the impression youre much older than that. Then again, everyone seems young coming through my computer.

I'll take ya to visit with my grandma (although I know you are so much younger) and you can step back into that world you just described.
My brother and I spent six weeks one summer with my grandparents in Georgia, and instead of gin rummy they would sit around singing hymes.
Although my brother and I still remenisce (sp) about those days.
Everyday at my grandma's is like stepping into the past. The days go by so much slower, ya know?
She'll be 90 at the end of July.
God Bless her.

Peace :peace:
