The Towering Summit Of Catholic Nerdiness

...yesterday.

Me and my family went to the Biltmore Hotel Golfcourse to see the fireworks (with about 5000 other people...it was PACKED). Well we got there, hung out for a while, then this other family we know came, and they have two boys my brother's ages. So they're playing, the parents are talking, it's getting dark, we have two hours till fireworks/picnic and I'm bored. Then I remember that the Church of the Little Flower (St. Therese Catholic Church) must be somewhere close by.

So this Catholic Nerd and Creepy Alien tells her mom that she'll go walk around a bit, makes her way through the golfcourse and picnic baskets and towels spread out and kids playing tag, trying to find the right street. It takes her 30 minutes to get to the street, it's sunset and from there she sees the Church. This CN/CA is very happy and walks in, kneels and spends the next 20 minutes talking to Jesus/Mama Mary/holy sibs, then lights a candle, says a prayer to her guardian angel to protect her because it's getting dark and it's a bad neighborhood and there's creeps out there, then walks back the 40 minutes through the golfcourse, gets thoroughly lost among all the people, and finally finds her family.

Her mother is worried because this CN/CA was gone for 1 hour and 1/2, and akss what she had been doing, to which this girl, knowing her mom would kill her if she told her she had been to a CHURCH ("what vera?? again??? what's your problem...") answers she was talking with friends. Which was very true...hey, I wasn't lying!!

The End.

I'm SUCH a nerd...I scare myslef sometimes....

That's odd, it wouldn't be safe after dark in the neighborhood where St. Terese Church is here in Memphis either. But, I love going there in the daylight!

but you see, I NEVER get a chance to be in a church...I barely get to Mass, and sometimes not even that! So to be so bored and so close to a church, to have it to myself, a cool, quiet place to be for ONCE........I just couldn't pass it up, lol.

It was like the second time I've evr had a chance to be in a Church alone with no hurry...

Hmmm...don't know, never been to any 'celbeations'

*vera being a pain*

Why not? lol, our neighbors were being very annoying with their excessive patriotism, so we decided to go see the fireworks. You don't have to be American to enjoy them :P

LOL!

I went to the fireworks and just messed around with my cosuin. He "invented" a game where we would ahve to run up this hill to the blanket from this light pole once the firework was fired but before it boomed. LOL!

Lol. Thats great.

My family and I went to see fireworks in Bar Harbor and you could tell we were pro-lifers because we had a family of eight people on one little blanket (and we managed pretty well) It rocked. We were so loud and weird I think we were annoying the 700 other people around us. We're so cool
