Pope St Clement 1
I've been a member since November so it's probably about time I did this introduction thingy. I live in the small town of Pemberton (population : about 1300 in town & farming area) in the tall Karri forests of south west Western Australia. I'm a 38 year old guy who is a Child Care worker, Co-ordinator of the Children's ministry in a Catholic community, Co-ordinator of our Parish Children's Liturgy, an Acolyte, parish council member and a babysitter. The Catholic community to which I belong is called The Holy Spirit Of Freedom Community(HSOF). We are charismatic, eucharistic, marian and apostolic. Daily Mass (if possible), charismatic prayer & praise, eucharistic adoration, rosary, divine mercy chaplet and night office are part of each day's prayer weaponry. The front line of the work is friendship evangelisation with street kids, drug addicts and prostitutes (this is done mainly in Perth, Melbpurne and Manila - Karriholm Christian centre in Pemberton is our home base) as well as ministering to others in need. We've received canonical recognition in the dioceses of Perth, Bunbury and Melbourne. About 8 years ago I received a call from God to work with "children of people associated with the Holy Spirit Of Freedom Community" - a call that was confirmed 3 years later and reconfirmed ever since. Not so long ago I also discerned, after a long period of prayer and reflection, that I am called to the single life. Around December to February I will be leaving my Child Care job to become a full-time, live-in member of HSOF. I love this totally awesome Catholic faith and I love phatmass.com. Just quietly, I think you guys are awesome and I was blown away by what you have done with the website. Love the apologetics reference section and the games arcade. I'm doing an "Awesome Catholics Websites" section each week in our church bullettin and you guys will be in it (want me to e-mail you the write-up?). Keep up the fantastic work. Oh, and if you want to know my given name, its' Robert McLernon. Bless your cotton socks (woollen ones too).

Did you ever go to the Redemptorist Monastery church of Saints Peter and Paul in North Perth (or to any of Raymond De Souza's apologetics talks?) ? I used to go to the Sunday 6pm Mass there until 1997 and after that to the 10.30 am mass until 2001. I'm just curious - do you know how many Aussies there are on Phatmass? God bless

We used to go to St Mary's Cathedral where my dad and my brother in law were acolytes. I havent been to any apologetics talks as yet, sadly- have you heard of Lumen Verum Apologetics? I am thinking of getting involved.. Although admittedly I am one very green novice. Funnily enough, phatmass is entirely responsible for my newfound interest in Catholic Apolgetics, where none existed b4 Like you say, awesome place this How many aussies.. hmm good question I think there are a handful of us, though we seem to be scattered all over the country.
