Ash Wednesday
I clicked on the link and accidentally edited the title somehow, but changed it back. At least I think so. In case anyone was wondering what my edit was up to, that was an accident.

Proto nazi technically refers to, like, the precursor of full blown nazism. So not a nazi but going in that direction. "Crypto nazi" means secret nazi, and one who didn't want to be extra could just call crypto Nazis, nazis. But being a proto nazi is something technically different than being an actual nazi. Doesn't mean I have to let particularly annoying moments pass without comment though. Maybe you're just too good for this crazy wurld ... it's possible I should stop taking everything as a joke My disposition and the guiding principal of my life is to try to make the things of God look attractive, to make much of Him. I take things like not needlessly arguing with other believers seriously, because it has never profited me personally and doing so before the eyes of the world runs the risk of making us look human and small (which we are) instead of making us look like the Sons and Daughters of God. St Paul says the whole of creation groans to see us revealed as the Divine Children in Romans 8:22; I think he is most immediately speaking of the Resurrection from the dead, but I think he had some things in mind while we are here as well. Despite what people may think of me for their own theological reasons, I believe that I belong to the Lord Jesus. I believe He loves me deeply and totally. I do not want to embarrassed before Him. He says in various places in His Book that He is not the author of confusion, that He is love, that we (Christians) are to love one another--those things to my understanding forbid me from interacting with others that belong to Him in base, divisive, or hostile ways, except when necessary. I fail at this. I am from the Bronx and have a lacerating tongue and a very quick temper. In this setting, this public community of people gathered in the name of the One I Love, I must govern myself so as not expose Him to ridicule or shame before people who will die and burn in Hell if they reject Him. I am not perfect, nor even good, nor will I be while wearing this meat suit that will die, be buried, and rot in the ground, but I do my best to not grieve the Master and to listen to His voice. I feel that my desire to not argue with Christians about Donald Trump is valid. Even though I believe he is destructive and dangerous, there is no mundane topic that I can allow to separate me from the love and care I am commanded to feel for those who worship Jesus. To have gone on with the chat about Trump would have angered me and made me say hurtful things to the other party and anyone else who cannot see DJT for what I think he is. But at the end of the day even if I am right that Trump is a kind of portent of an evil and dangerous future for people who exist at the margins of this society because of race, or sexuality, or gender, or class, or whatever; I feel that it is a less serious concern than the stuff I said in my first paragraph about "making much" of God. I know this is very long and rambly, so I am going to stop, I am just trying to communicate that I think how we as Christians act towards one another ESPECIALLY in public spaces is objectively a serious matter and I do not trust MYSELF to be able to civilly disagree about Trump or certain other topics. It is essentially the exact reason why I would never agree to have dinner alone with the beautiful David Laid (). I am married and love my husband enough to kill or die for him, but if David Laid was around, I'd have to exert a significant amount care in his presence to not wound my husband and embarrass myself in front of Jesus (my first love). On the internet, rudeness, dissension, and cruelty are "around," and they are major temptations for me, so I have to retain a certain kind of insistent formality to be free of them. If you made it all the way to the end of this and at least tried to understand, thank you. If you didn't try, go kick rocks. (the kick rocks thing was my attempt at levity, don't you might hurt your foot.) Edited September 30, 2020 by cutenickname

One of the only lingering justifiable reasons I had for voting for Trump would be his likelihood of putting a pro-life justice in the supreme court. Ironically, if he DOES succeed at this before the election, I wouldn't have much of a reason to vote for him anymore. If, for some reason, they aren't able to get a pro-life justice in before the election, it might actually persuade me to begrudgingly vote Trump--for this one specific reason. Kinda weird to think that it may actually be better for Trump if the Democrats are successful at stalling the nomination. The Democrats will undo everything if they take over, to the detriment of us all. Starting with the striking down of the first amendment

Starting with the striking down of the first amendment I dunno if it is really all that bleak. The last time they had full control they passed a health-care bill. Not quite the predicted destruction of the universe, but I'll grant you that a split congress is better.
