geetarplayer
Why do we bow during the words "By the power of the Holy Spirit..." in the Nicene Creed at Mass now? Not that I object to it, but I am just curious. -Mark
cappie
In the "olden days" you used to genuflect. Because the incarnation is so fundamental to our Christian Faith this simple fact of bowing is a reminder, like bowing your head at the name of Jesus, is a physical way to pay homage. On Christmas Day and March 25th the rubrics of the Mass still say we should genuflect at those words because of the importance of these days in our salvation. On march 25 we remember the Angel Gabriel announced to good news to Mary and she concieved of the Holy Spirit. On Christmas day the word was made flesh and came to live amongst us true God and true Man
